Our Program
Children learn in the major developmental areas in direct experiences with science and art materials, an extensive library, large and small motor equipment, cooking, and a program of conflict resolution training. Reading readiness and pre-math skills are emphasized. The curriculum is designed to enhance creativity, promote curiosity, and encourage decision making along with a sense of personal responsibility. Outdoor and indoor spaces, in addition to classrooms and sleeping areas, are used age appropriately by four groupings of Infants, Toddlers, Younger Preschoolers and Older Preschoolers. Strengths of our program include small ratios of children to adults (and thus the ability to respond to children's individual needs), long term staff persons in teaching teams, generous overall size, experiential learning curriculum, conflict resolution program, and the advantages of our frequent use of metropolitan area museums, parks, and institutions. |
